More than 10 school children stopped from joining extremist groups

MORE than ten school-aged children have reportedly been stopped from going through with plans to travel to the Middle East to join extremist groups.

Australian Federal Police commissioner Andrew Colvin told ABC on Monday that young people seemed particularly vulnerable to online recruitment campaigns.

Mr Colvin said the youngsters were stopped before they tried to leave Australia and referred to community groups.
