Morning gridlock after car erupts into flames on M1

Motorists are being warned of delays on the Pacific Motorway this morning after a car caught fire.

The vehicle erupted into flames in the southbound lanes of the M1 at Yatala just after 5am.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson told myGC fire crews were quick on scene and managed to extinguishly the flames promptly.

The scene has now been cleared, however there are residual delays in both directions.

Morning motorists are being urged to allow for extra travel time.
