Morning traffic chaos after truck erupts into flames on M1

Motorists travelling southbound on the Pacific Motorway this morning are being warned to brace for lengthy delays due to a truck fire.

The heavy vehicle burst into flames southbound at Nerang, near Exit 69, around 6.10am.

Emergency crews, including firies, paramedics and police have just arrived on scene.

It’s not yet known how many people, if any, have been injured.

Traffic is quickly building in the area, with the Department of Transport and Main Roads warning delays are expected.

Motorists are being urged to allow for extra travel time for their Friday morning commute, and or to seek alternative routes.
