Wet weather causing morning traffic chaos on Gold Coast roads

UPDATE: ANOTHER crash involving two cars on the Gold Coast Highway near the Isle of Capri is affecting traffic northbound.

Police are on scene directing traffic, however motorists are being advised to seek alternative routes with traffic at a standstill from Broadbeach to Surfers.

EARLIER: WET weather appears to be affecting most Gold Coast roads this morning with heavy delays being experienced.

The Pacific Motorway is in gridlock with a four car pile up at Reedy Creek causing major delays for morning commuters.

The accident occurred around 7.30am and has since been cleared, but delays are still being experienced.

North from Palm Beach to Currumbin is heavily congested with cars at a standstill.

Be careful Southbound on the M1 around Gaven, reports debris on the road is affecting all lanes near exit 66.

Motorists heading into Southport via Smith Street are also experiencing delays.

Motorists are being advised to expect long delays and allow extra travel time this morning.
