Gold Coast schools are welcoming back staff and students today, with only a couple still closed.

A handful of schools – particularly in the northern suburbs – had to close yesterday, with flooding issues causing difficulties.

Coombabah State School, Biggera Waters State School, Tallebudgera State School, Arundel State School and Pacific Pines State School have confirmed that they are open today, and are looking forward to seeing everyone back.

While Cedar Creek State School, Arcadia College in Varsity Lakes and Oxenford State School have confirmed they are closed again today, with flood waters still blocking access.

Over the border, Mount Saint Patrick College in Murwillumbah is closed as well.
