A MOTHER and young child were held at knife-point and robbed of more than $500 as they walked through Southport on Monday.
It’s alleged the woman was bailed up by a young man armed with a large kitchen knife as she pushed her baby in a stroller down Eugaree Street around 12.50pm.
The man, believed to be in his early 20s, is alleged to have frightened the young mother into handing over a stash of cash.

He took off on foot with $510, last seen running east down Spendelove Street, towards Ferry Road.
The police helicopter and dog squad have joined several ground crews in the hunt for the offender.
The woman was taken to the Southport Police station to assist police with their investigation.
No one was injured during the heist.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 6-foot tall and wearing a black hoody, sweat pants and thongs.
