A MOTHER has been arrested, charged and reported to the Department of Family Services after she was allegedly caught driving around drunk with her four-year-old daughter in the car.

The 38-year-old woman allegedly had almost four times the legal amount of alcohol in her blood when she was pulled over by police on Ashford Avenue at Milperra, in Sydney’s west on Tuesday night.

Police were breath testing drivers when they stopped the woman’s Suzuki Swift about 9pm.

After returning a positive roadside reading, the 38-year-old woman, who police say had her four-year-old daughter in the car with her at the time, was arrested and taken to Bansktown Police Station.

There, it’s alleged the mother returned an official breath analysis reading of 0.197 – almost four times the legal limit.

She will appear in Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday, May 29.

Police said a child at risk notification was also made to the Department of Family and Community Services.
