Mother remanded in custody for helping son bury his fiancée under concrete slab

A South Australian woman has been remanded in custody, charged with helping her son cover up the alleged murder of young mum Jody Meyers.

Margaret Archer, 55, faced the Murray Bridge Magistrates’ Court via video link today charged with assisting her son Neil Archer, 30, with the murder of his 20-year-old fiancée.

The young mother’s body was found buried underneath a concrete slab in a shed in Ms Archer’s backyard in Mannum in September, a month after she disappeared.


The court heard Ms Archer  purchased 10 bags of cement from two hardware stores at Mannum and Murray Bridge.

It was also alleged Ms Archer topped up Ms Meyers’ mobile phone credit and sent the woman’s family a message.

Ms Archer applied for bail in court today however it was refused.

Too much of this sort of thing goes on. Maybe not so much in covering for murder but definitely cover for their “little boy” concerning domestic violence and other crimes. You see them get on social media all the time accusing their son’s partners of lying about him abusing her and accusing her of being the abusive one.
