Motorbike rider seriously injured after Murwillumbah crash
A motorcyclist has been rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital after crashing into a guard rail at Murwillumbah in northern New South Wales.
According to NSW Police, at around 11.30am on Sunday, a group of riders were travelling south-east along Numinbah Road, near Mt Tomewin Road.
It appears a 45-year-old Hillcrest man, failed to negotiate a bend in the road and crashed into a guardrail.
A second rider, a 56-year-old man from Crestmead, then crashed into the rider.
The initial rider sustained fractures to his legs and was airlifted by Lifesaver 4 to the University Hospital in a critical condition.
The other rider received only minor abrasions.
A crime scene has been established and the scene will be forensically examined.
Investigations are continuing.
