Motorcyclist hospitalised after hitting deer on Gold Coast road

A motorcyclist has luckily escaped serious injuries after he collided with a deer while riding early this morning.

Emergency services were called to Robina Parkway near Boowaggan Road in Robina around 3.00 am, following reports of the crash.

The 42-year-old rider was assessed at the scene for minor injuries, according to police, and transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Early investigations suggest the deer ran onto the road from bushland and the motorcyclist was unable to take evasive action.

He hit the deer before coming off his bike and hitting the bitumen.

Sadly, the deer for found deceased on the side of the road.

The extent of the man’s injuries is not yet known.
