Motorcyclist killed, catapulted into street sign in horror crash

A man has died after being catapulted through the air and into a street sign following a horror motorcycle crash in regional Victoria last night.

Police said passers-by found the man’s motorcycle lying on its side on Sutton Street in Delacombe, near Ballarat, just after 11pm.

Emergency services were called and arrived to find the 22-year-old male rider had been ejected from his bike.

Police said the man was catapulted through the air and into a street sign.

He suffered life-threatening injuries after landing approximately 120 metres down the road.

Paramedics worked frantically to keep the young man alive at the scene, but his injuries were too severe and he was pronounced dead before he could be transported to hospital.
