Motorcyclist killed in crash after running red light in Melbourne
A MOTORCYCLIST has been killed in a horror crash after reportedly running a red light in Melbourne’s southeast last night.
The accident occurred at the intersection of South Road and Station Street in Moorabbin around 6pm.
Police said the motorcyclist collided with a Toyota sedan after allegedly running a red light.
The 43-year-old rider sustained life-threatening injuries after being thrown from his bike and catapulted through the air.
He was rushed to hospital in a critical condition. Police said the man from Clayton South sadly succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead around 7.30am this morning.
The driver of the Toyota sedan, a 33-year-old Moorabbin man, was not injured.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
