Motorcyclist killed in Logan Motorway crash

UPDATE 1120AM | Police have confirmed a motorcyclist has been killed after crashing into a guardrail on the Logan Motorway in  Kingston.

Initial investigations suggest around 6.50am the rider was travelling east along Logan Motorway when he lost control.

Emergency services attended, however the rider, a local man is his 40s was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Eastbound lanes of Logan Motorway are currently closed at Wembley Road with traffic being diverted at Wembley Road.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.

EARLIER 9:10AM | A motorcyclist is believed to have lost his life after crashing on the Logan Motorway just north of the Gold Coast.

The accident happened at Kingston at around 6:50am on Sunday.

Police have closed eastbound lanes of the road.

The closure means there is heavy congestion approaching Kingston.
