Motorcyclist thrown from bike, struck by van in horror Sydney crash

A motorcyclist is in a critical condition after a horror three-vehicle crash in Sydney’s upper north shore.

The accident happened on Mona Vale Road near the intersection of Mawson Street at St Ives about 1.20pm Tuesday.

Police say the rider and a taxi travelling west on Mona Vale Rd collided, before the motorcyclist fell from the bike and was hit by a van.


The rider, a man aged in his 20s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The driver of the taxi, a 25-year-old man and the driver of the van, a 41-year-old man, escaped uninjured and were both taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

A crime scene has been established and investigations are continuing.
