Motorist hospitalised after hitting three kangaroos on M1

A MAN has been injured after his vehicle collided with three kangaroos on the M1 overnight.

The man, aged in his 30s, was travelling in the northbound lanes at Pimpama when the animals ran out just after midnight.

He suffered chest and neck injuries in the collision and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed the man was transported in a stable condition.

It’s unknown if the kangaroos involved in the crash survived.
