Motorist rescued from rising floodwaters, Gold Coast

A motorist has luckily been rescued by emergency services, after their car was swept away by flood waters on the southern Gold Coast.

Due to heavy rain this morning, Tallebudgera Connection Road has experienced flash flooding.

Emergency services were called out to the intersection of Valley Drive just before 11.00am, following reports a car was submerged in the rising flood waters.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were able to extract a man from the vehicle, before paramedics checked them over.

He luckily escaped injury and didn’t need to be taken to hospital.
