Motorist rescued from wreckage after nasty Gold Coast rollover

A motorist has miraculously managed to escape serious injury following a nasty rollover in Robina overnight.

The vehicle is understood to have crashed into another car at the intersection of Scottsdale Drive and Christina Avenue just after 6.30pm.

The force of the collision caused the car to flip onto its side, trapping one of the motorist’s inside the wreckage.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews had to cut open the roof in order to free the man, whose age is not known.

He was then treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to myGC that the man was transported in a stable condition.
