Motorists urged to take care as thick fog shrouds Brisbane
Brisbane has woken up to a pea-souper with thick fog shrouding the city as well as parts of Logan.
Motorists are being urged to take extra care with major roads including the M1 covered as far down as Tanah Merah.
Visibility in some areas is down to as low as 100 metres.
Airline passengers are also being warned to expect delays this morning.
Brisbane Airport says while there are no major delays at the moment, aircraft are being slowed down which will likely lead to some hold-ups as the morning goes on.
Passengers are being told to check with their airline.
Delays are also expected to affect City Cat services.
The thick blanket of fog came after a relatively mild night, high humidity and no wind.
The fog is expected to clear around 8am this morning for a sunny and warm day.
