Motorists warned of heavy traffic during Sydney Running Festival

Motorists have been urged to avoid the Sydney CBD, Lower North Shore, Pyrmont and Moore Park areas until after 1:30pm on Sunday 20 September while major roads are closed for the Running Festival.

The Sydney Harbour Bridge and its approaches, the Western Distributor, Cahill Expressway and other roads in the CBD close at 4am. Part of Anzac Parade closes at 6am.

Very heavy traffic and significant delays are expected. Parking restrictions will also be in place in these areas so that’s just another reason not to drive.

If you’re taking part in the Running Festival, take public transport – extra trains and buses will be running in the morning to get you to the start at Milsons Point, plus travel is included in your race entry.

Some buses will be using different roads, and starting and finishing their trips at different spots so be sure to plan ahead at transportnsw.info orlivetraffic.com.
