3.30PM UPDATE: A PILE-up on the M1 is still creating dramas for drivers heading south on the Gold Coast this afternoon.
Initial information suggests up to five vehicles, including a motorbike, came to grief in the southbound lanes near Palm Beach – between Exit’s 89 and 92 – around 2.30pm.
An ambulance spokesperson told myGC one person had been taken to Tweed Heads Hospital in a stable condition.

There’s no information on the age or sex of the patient.
Heavy delays are still being experienced in both directions.
Southbound traffic has been brought to a standstill, with cars queued back to Mudgeeraba.
The incident is also impacting northbound traffic, with delays back to John Flynn Hospital.
Motorists have been urged to take care, and make use of local service roads or delay their journey if possible.
