Multi-storey building site engulfed in flames in Sydney’s Circular Quay
FIRE crews are currently battling a ferocious fire at a construction site in Sydney’s circular Quay.
It’s understood the building, which is on the corner of Pitt and Alfred Streets, erupted into flames just before 9.00am AEDT.
Photos and videos posted to social media show large flames and thick black smoke billowing into the sky.
It’s not yet known what sparked the blaze.
People are being urged to avoid the area with evacuations currently underway.
