Multiple crime scenes set up after woman found dead in NSW home

UPDATE: A man has been charged with the murder of a woman whose body was found in her home in Central West NSW on Friday.

The 28-year-old was arrested at a Union Street property in Forbes around 6.15am and spent the day being questioned by Police after they located the woman’s body at a home on Underwood Street.

He was charged with murder later in the day and has been refused bail to appear at Parkes Bail Court on Saturday.

The man and 59-year-old woman were known to each other. The cause of death has not been revealed.

EARLIER: A MAN has been arrested and multiple crime scenes set up in a small town in Central West NSW after a woman was found dead in her home this morning.

Police said emergency services were first called to a house on Union Street in Forbes around 6.15am following a “concern for welfare”.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Forbes Police Station for questioning.

A short time later, police attended a home on Underwood Street where they found the body of a 59-year-old woman.

Detectives have formed Strike Force Haddington to investigate the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.

Crime scenes have been established at several locations.

Investigations are continuing.
