Multiple people have been killed and several others injured in a shooting at a newspaper newsroom in Maryland.
It’s understood a gunman opened fire on multiple employees inside the Capital Gazette office in Annapolis on Thursday afternoon local time.
An intern at the company tweeted from his personal account during the incident, pleading for help.

“Active shooter at 888 Bestgate please help us,” he wrote.

Police confirmed to local media that there was an “active shooter” situation and that the suspect has since been taken into custody.
“It’s a tragic situation and we cant give all the information yet because its an active crime scene, but we have had several fatalities,” a police spokesperson said.
The suspect is currently being interrogated by officers.
