Mum and bub held at knifepoint, comfit of alleged attacker released

POLICE have released a comfit image of a man they wish to speak with following the alleged armed robbery of a Gold Coast mother and her 15-month-old baby in Southport on Monday.

The 19-year-old mother was pushing her baby in a stroller along Eugaree St when they were approached by a man just before 1pm.

It’s alleged that the man produced a large carving knife and demanded money from the woman.

She handed over around $500 in cash and the man fled the scene on foot, last seen running towards Ferry Road.

He is described as being in his early 20’s, Caucasian in appearance, of thin build with strawberry blonde shoulder length hair.

He was wearing a dark hooded jumper with “Compton” insignia on the front (similar to that pictured), black long pants and thongs at the time of the heist.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
