Mum avoids jail after leaving toddler in hot car while she went shopping
A mother has avoided spending any time behind bars after she was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond for leaving her toddler in a scorching hot car.
The 38-year-old appeared in an Adelaide Court this morning charged with aggravated creating risk of serious harm.
The court heard the mother had locked her sleeping 3-year-old son in a car for almost an hour while she went shopping in February 2014 – the temperature at the time was 41.8 degrees.
The toddler was only discovered after a passerby heard him crying.
ABC News reports the woman has been handed a 12-month good behaviour bond over the incident.
