Mum busted drink-driving with child in car after crashing into power pole

A woman has been caught drink-driving after crashing her car with her child inside on the NSW North Coast.

Around 8:20pm last night, emergency services were called to a road in Brushgrove, 20km north of Grafton after reports of a car hitting a power pole.

On arrival, police spoke to a 35-year-old woman, who was the driver of the car, and subjected her to a roadside breath test which returned a positive result.

An eight-year-old-boy who was in the car at the time of the crash escaped injury.

The woman was arrested and taken to Maclean Police Station where she allegedly returned a breath analysis of 0.192.

She was  issued a field court attendance notice for high-range drink driving and her licence was suspended.

The matter has also been reported to Family and Community Services.
