A mother and her child have been seriously injured after being hit by a car driven by a learner in Sydney’s west overnight.
About 6.45pm, the 27-year-old woman and her eight-year-old daughter were walking along a footpath on Greenwood Parkway at Jordan Springs when they were struck by an out of control ute.
The woman suffered pelvis injuries and was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The young girl suffered a head laceration and was taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital also in a serious but stable condition.
Nine News reports the pair were out trick or treating at the time of the incident.
The female learner driver and her adult male passenger escaped unharmed.
Investigations into how the crash occurred are ongoing.
