A mother has posted a graphic photo showing the moment her young daughter’s leg broke in a bid to warn parents about the dangers of going down a slide with a child.
The woman’s post has gone viral since being posted to Facebook on Sunday, with hundreds of parents thanking the mother for alerting them to the distressing playground incident.
In the post, US woman Heather Clare explained that in 2015 she went down a playground slide with her then 1-year-old daughter Meadow on her lap when the child’s foot got caught between her and the slide.

“This picture is the moment her leg was breaking,” the mother wrote.
“She’s still smiling… because it was happening at this exact moment.”
The woman went on to explain that surprisingly, the injury is actually quite common.
“When we went to the ER, the super empathetic doctor lectured me on how common this injury is,” she said.
“I had no idea. I thought everyone took their kids down the slide.
“I strongly feel every playground should have a warning sign, but since I’ve never seen one, I share this picture every year in hopes that the pain Meadow felt and the guilt that I still feel will save other babies and parents from the same.
“Don’t ever go down a slide with a baby on your lap. There is no SAFE way to go down a slide with your little.”
