Murder investigation launched after man’s body found in Sydney unit

POLICE have launched a murder investigation after the body of a 53-year-old man was found inside a housing commission block in Surry Hills.

Officers made the discovery about 11.30am on Sunday, after being called to the unit on Clisdell Street.

It’s understood officers have today been searching the area for a possible weapon.

A crime scene has also been established which is being examined by forensic police.

Police from Surry Hills Police Area Command with assistance from State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad have commenced inquiries into the man’s death.
