Murdered schoolgirl Tiahleigh to be farewelled today

AS POLICE continue the hunt for her killer, schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer will be farewelled by her loved ones today.

The body of the 12-year-old Marsden State High School student was discovered on the banks of the Pimpama River earlier this month, six days after she went missing.

As her funeral is carried out in Brisbane today, officers will be stopping cars at the Kerkin Road North site where her body was found.

It’s hoped a regular visitor may remember something from the day she disappeared, October 30.

It’s believed Tiahleigh may have decided to wag school and meet up with someone.

“The chances of her on the very day that she decides to wag it that she’s picked up by a random person is statistically low but we don’t discount that,” Detective Superintendent Dave Hutchinson said.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
