Mystery after man dropped off at GC hospital with multiple stab wounds

AN investigation is underway after a man turned up at the Gold Coast University Hospital with a number of stab wounds to his body overnight.

Police said the 25-year-old is believed to have been dropped off at the hospital just after 7.20pm.

“Initial investigations indicate the man was driven to the hospital in a private vehicle which was located in a nearby carpark,” police said in a statement.

A crime scene has since been declared at James Overall Park in Brighton Parade at Southport, with investigations ongoing.

The man is being treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.
