‘Body’ discovered on side of Qld highway turns out to be sex doll

UPDATE @ 3.30 PM | An investigation into what was thought to have been a human body discovered on the side of a busy highway in Queensland this morning has had a happy ending.

Police rushed to a location on the Bruce Highway, south of Bowen, around 7.00am, after receiving reports of a body wrapped in a blanket on a trail off the highway.

A crime scene was established and officers immediately began investigations into the grim discovery.

However, in a bizarre twist, Queensland Police confirmed in a statement a short time ago that the ‘body’ was in fact a life-like human doll.

“Forensic officers commenced investigations which have concluded the body is a life-like replica doll of a human,” police said.

The crime scene has since been removed.

Police say investigations are continuing into where the doll, believed to be a sex doll, may have come from.

The grim discovery was made at a location on the Bruce Highway, south of Bowen, around 7.00am on Friday.

Police were called and quickly established a crime scene, with detectives and forensic officers immediately launching an investigation.

It’s not yet known if the death is being treated as suspicious.
