The rugby union community on the Gold Coast has rallied around a local rugby player, who sadly lost his battle with a brain tumour earlier this week.
Navar Herbert passed away on Tuesday night, following a lengthy battle with a cancerous sarcoma tumour.
The Nerang prop was also a beloved husband and father, whose family is now trying to get his body home to New Zealand for burial.

Their Go Fund Me page is already very close to their $70,000 target, requiring just $4,000 more.
Mr Herbert’s wife, Maia Falwasser, has organised the Go Fund Me page, posted with a video of the pair’s wedding.
“Today my heart is heavy and sad, I lost my best friend, Husband and the Father to our Son. I feel absolutely showered in LOVE by friends and family, this is a hard time, however i do find my strength and refuge in everybody’s support,” the post reads.
“Navar’s Journey has just begun, shortly we will be taking him back to Kotahitanga Marae, where he has asked to be laid to rest. He has impacted so many people near and far, and he will always be in our memories and have a special place in our hearts.
“As expected, costs to take Navar back home along with his immediate family have been quite extensive, and to give us every opportunity to spend our last moments spending time with him, we are asking for donations to assist with this. I am truly truly appreciative of your support.”
Meantime the Nerang Bulls are planning their old boys’ day on July 6 to be a big event in his honour.
It’s understood that a memorial may also be created.
