A MAN IS fighting for life in the Gold Coast University Hospital, after a near drowning at a resort in Surfers Paradise.
The man, aged in his 30s, was pulled unconscious from a pool just after 9.20pm on Tuesday.
Senior Operations Supervisor Gavin Fuller said he was found “on the bottom of the pool” by a 16-year-old boy.

“(He) was retrieved from the bottom of the pool and CPR was commenced by bystanders until the arrival of Queensland Ambulance,” Mr Fuller said.
Paramedics, including Critical Care Paramedics and the Gold Coast High Acuity Response Unit attended and the man was rushed to hospital.
“Further resuscitation attempts were commenced and the patient was transported under lights and sirens to Gold Coast Hospital… in a serious condition.”
He was sedated ahead of transportation.
