Necklace holds key to identifying woman found deceased in water
Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a woman whose body was found at Tathra, on the state’s Far South Coast, yesterday.
About 8.30am (Wednesday 14 October 2015), a member of the public contacted police after seeing a body in the water at Mogareeka Bridge, on the Tathra-Bermagui Road.
Officers from Far South Coast Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
A post mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow; however at this stage, the woman remains unidentified and her cause of death is yet to be determined.
As investigations continue, police have released an image of a necklace similar to one the woman was wearing; in the hope it may help identify the woman.
She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 20-35 years of age, 160-170cm tall, with a medium build and brown hair.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward.
