Needles found in tampered children’s candy on Halloween

SEWING needles have been discovered hidden in wrapped candy bars handed out to children on Halloween in the US.

The horrifying discovery was made on the evening of 31 October, 2015 when children were out trick or treating in the Philadelphia suburb of Kennett Square.

A statement from Kennett Square Police Department said: “On 1 November, the Kennett Square Police Department received reports of Halloween candy that had been tampered with.

“A needle type item was found inside five wrapped Twix bars given to four different children on the evening of 31 October, 2015.”

The tampered chocolates and packaging have been sent for testing, while parents have been urged to check their children;s candy.
