Unwanted puppies found dumped on roadside

SEVEN neglected puppies infested with mites have been found abandoned in a box on the side of a road in Queensland’s Lockyer Valley.

The litter was found suffering from a severe case of mange, with significant hair loss and scarring.

A member of the public found the little fellas whimpering in a box on the side of a road in the Forest Hill area near Gatton on Tuesday night and rushed them to the UQ Vets Small Animal Hospital.

They are now being cared for by the RSPCA who are now trying to track down their owners.

“It’s upsetting to see this sort of treatment with any animal, to see it in seven young and loving puppies is truly heartbreaking,” RSPCA chief veterinarian Anne Chester said.
