Nerang man busted after trying to use stolen credit card at Broadbeach resort

A Nerang man has been charged with a string of drug and weapons offences after police uncovered a haul of firearms, GHB and cannabis inside a Broadbeach unit.

The 31-year-old was busted after police were alerted to a stolen credit card being used to pay for accommodation at a resort on Surf Parade on Monday.

Detectives attended the unit complex, where they allegedly located three firearms, ammunition, a silencer, knife, Gamma Hydroxybutyric Acid, 895 grams of cannabis and pipes.

Several mobile phones were also uncovered.

The man was arrested at the scene and charged with three counts of unlawfully possessing a weapon and one count each of fraud, possessing dangerous drugs, possessing drug utensils and use thing to forge document.

He is scheduled to reappear at the Southport Magistrates Court on July 27.
