New daily high in NSW, Vic cases down

New South Wales has posted another record number of COVID-19 cases with 3057 reported on Tuesday.

That’s up from the 2501 cases recorded on Monday.

The state also recorded a further two deaths.

There has also been an increase in the number of people being treated in hospital, with 284 patients, up from 261 on Monday.

Of those, 39 people are in ICU.

Almost 137,000 tests were conducted across the state yesterday.

Meantime, Victoria has seen a slight drop in case numbers with 1245 recorded on Tuesday, down from 1302 yesterday.

The state also recorded six further deaths.

Victoria now has 13,355 active cases in the state with 392 people being treated in hospital, including 116 in ICU.
