New leading lady to grace Broadbeach Christmas Carols this weekend

In a twist of fate, Gold Coast locals will be treated to the stella tones and enigmatic presence of actress Rachael Beck at the Broadbeach Christmas Carols at Pratten Park this Saturday night December 9.

Taking the lead from Marina Prior who is unable to perform due to illness, Beck will team up with Martin Crewes to perform some cheery tunes for locals at the annual carols event.

Currently appearing as ‘Lisa Parker’ in Home & Away, Rachael’s previous screen credits include City Homicide, Stingers, Home & Away and Hey Dad. She has also been gracing stages around the globe for the past two decades in leading roles for productions such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Les Miserables, Singing in the Rain and The Sound of Music.

Rachael said she was so excited to get the call to sing at the Broadbeach Carols. “This is something new for me and as a Mum Christmas has never felt so special and I cannot wait to get on that plane and be part of what I have heard is a truly special night.”

Broadbeach Alliance Chief Executive Office Jan McCormick said she is thrilled Rachael will joining the amazing cast to lead the carols. “She really is a superstar and will add a new dimension to the carols for 2017. Of course, we are also sending our love and wishes to Marina to get better really soon; she has been a long-time friend of our team.”

1029 Hot Tomato’s Flan & Emily Jade with Christo, who are hosting this year’s carols, will chat with Rachael on air later this week about the carols and what locals can expect from her performance.
