New Qld holiday discount deals to boost struggling tourism

Queenslanders will be offered big discounts on holidays across the Sunshine State in the latest campaign to boost tourism.

The Premier will this morning unveil the new push to get Queenslanders to get out and explore their own backyard.

The ‘Great Queensland Getaway’ will also be available across more areas of the state.

Residents will be able to apply for a promo code that will give them up to 50 per cent off tourism experiences up to $100 in the Southeast, Central and Western Queensland.

For experiences in North Queensland, the limit will rise to $200.

Unlike similar campaigns in the past, this new tactic will allow people to use their discounts on airfares with Virgin Australia, as well as accommodation.

The getaway offers will launch at 9am on Monday and will be available until the end of the month unless snapped up earlier.
