POLICE have identified the mother of a newborn baby boy found dumped in a drain alongside a NSW highway.
A group of cyclists riding on a bike track beside the M7 at Quakers Hill first heard the baby’s screams coming from the drain around 7.30am on Sunday.
Several passersby then worked together to lift the concrete lid off the 2.4m deep drain where they found the baby lying at the bottom, wrapped in a hospital blanket.
