Newlywed Princess Eugenie stuns in reception dress

Often referred to for her fashion faux pas at the wedding of her cousin Prince William, Princess Eugenie has sent fashion tongues wagging for all the right reasons this weekend.

The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah ‘Fergie’ Ferguson married her long-time love Jack Brooksbank on Friday, in a ceremony attended by royals and celebrities.

The 28-year-old was applauded for choice of wedding dress, designed by London duo Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, which featured similarities to the one her mother wore in 1986.

The heavily sculptured, layered white gown included a pleated skirt, long sleeves and low backline, baring her shoulders and scoliosis scars.

But, it’s her reception gown that is bound to spawn countless ‘knock-offs’ with social media going crazy over the stunning design.

New York fashion designer Zac Posen chose the colour of the silk gown to resemble “the blush of an English rose” according to the official press release.

“Mr Posen took his inspiration from the White Rose of York,” it explained.

A gorgeous photo of the newlyweds was released by the Royal Family overnight, along with official photos including those of the bridal party and one including the Queen and Prince Philip.

Many are commenting on the positioning of Fergie in the family photo. It’s the fist time in years she has been in such close quarters with her former in-laws, standing directly behind Prince Philip.

The Duchess would have got a thrill out of being confused for the Queen. She had to correct bridesmaid Theodora Williams (daughter of Robbie Williams) on the steps of St Georges Chapel.
