She’s conquered the music scene, had a go on the big screen, and now singer Nicki Minaj is giving the small screen a shot.
The 32-year-old is set to star in and executive produce a new half-hour comedy series based on her own life.
The untitled series will focus on her rise to stardom, including her family’s move from Trinidad in the early 1990s and her life growing up in Queens, New York.

“This is one of the more unique adventures I’ve ever embarked on,” Nicki said in a statement. “I couldn’t be more proud and excited to team up with an amazing group of people to give the world something really special.”
A pilot episode will be filmed in Minaj’s hometown this winter in the US for ABC Family.
