Nine people hospitalised after balcony collapses at Brisbane house party

NINE people have been injured after a balcony collapsed at a house party in Brisbane’s south overnight.

The incident happened at a house on Highland Terrace at St Lucia just before 7.30pm.

It’s understood about 20 people were standing on the balcony when it collapsed.

Nine people were injured and taken to various hospitals in Brisbane for treatment.

It’s understood they suffered broken bones and various other minor injuries.

Fortunately, none of the injuries were thought to be life-threatening.

The gender and ages of the patients were not immediately known at the time of writing.
