SLSQ says it will provide a further update to clubs and branches in May.
“This decision was not made lightly and comes after extensive consultation and discussion between SLSQ’s State Junior Activities Advisor, State Membership Services Officer and Membership Services Manager,” SLSQ said in a statement.
The move comes as many sports put a stop to junior sporting competitions because of fears about the spread of coronavirus.
“While disappointing, the health and well-being of members remains our key priority at all times,” SLSQ said.
“Importantly, this decision will help mitigate risk amongst our junior members while also helping safeguard the countless number of people they have direct interaction with off the beach.”
