No bail for accused in Southport siege case

THE man at the centre of a 12 hour siege in Southport will remain behind bars, after fronting court yesterday.

New details have also emerged in the case, with police alleging the accused threatened to blow his step-brothers head off, before firing shots at a car.

It’s understood the shots narrowly missed the occupants in the car.

It’s also been reported that the gunman held a second man at gunpoint, forcing the hostage to drive him home.

36-year-old Anthony Randall faces a string of charges including attempted murder, deprivation of liberty, assault occasioning bodily harm and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He didn’t apply for bail and will reappear next month.
