The biggest domestic Australian boxing contest of the year is happening tonight, with Jeff Horn and Tim Tszyu going head to head in Townsville.
While there has been plenty of build up to the highly-anticipated fight, Horn told Galey, Emily Jade & Christo he tries to steer clear of the drama.
“I stay out of all the rubbish talk, I leave that to the others to do. I’m not usually a part of it at all,” he said on the 1029 Hot Tomato breakfast show this morning.

“There’s been a few things thrown around but I try to stay out of it as much as I can. I’m in chill mode, but when I step through those ropes, I am going to be smack on.”
According to Horn, it’s this ability to “chill” that makes him a good fighter.
“I can work well under pressure. I don’t stress about anything. I am very relaxed, very chilled and when it comes to the moment…. I know where all my energy needs to go,” he said.
His past matches have also helped shape him into a force to be reckoned with.
“I’ve learnt how to go to war with Manny Pacquiao. I know how to cop a good punch, not that I like having that on my resume. Terence Crawford was an extremely skillful guy, I knew I couldn’t walk down everyone, and he was one of those guys.”
During his chat with the breakfast team, Horn said Tszyu was looking slight.
“I feel like I have a lot more size than him coming in to the ring. I don’t feel like I have strained myself too much to get down to that weight.”
As for what he’ll be doing once the bout is over, Horn said, “Ill be having some cheats for sure – some chocolate and ice cream.”
