No single hopes left for Australia at the US Open

It’s all over for the Australians at the US Open, with our last hopes in the singles both knocked out.

Former number one Ash Barty looked like she was on her way back to the top, before an upset loss against China’s Wang Qiang.

The Aussie went down in straight sets 6-2, 6-4.

In the men’s Alex Di Minaur also lost his round of 16 clash against Grigor Dimitrov.

He lost in straight sets as well, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4.

There is still some hope for the Aussies in the mixed doubles, Gold Coaster Sam Stosur and her partner Rajeev Ram are playing in the round of 16.
