Despite all dreaming about what we would do with the money, no one picked the winning numbers for last night’s $80 million Powerball draw, which means the jackpot will now soar to a whopping $100 million.
The $100 million prize is a new record for the game and if one person wins next Thursday it will set an Aussie record for the single biggest lottery win!
“It would be mind-blowing, but if one single entry takes home the entire $100 million jackpot next week it would be the largest Australian lottery jackpot ever won by a single entry,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

The current record is held by a Hervey Bay couple who won $70 million in January 2016.
“While we hope that next week is the week these lottery records are broken, its hard to know just how high the jackpot will go if the Powerball winning numbers don’t come up for Australian lottery players,” Mr Hart said.
While no entries scored the division one prize in last night’s $80 million Powerball draw, more than 2.02 million prizes in divisions two to nine were won across Australia worth more than $35.2 million.
Amongst these winners, there were nine division two winners, who each take home a prize of $108,500.65.
The $100 million Powerball draw will take place on Thursday 16 August.
